Blackjack

These are just a few of the many Features of the Classic Model 1-7 from Blackjack Knives. With an A-2 High Carbon Steel Blade that is and Convex Ground and Hand Finished, the Model 1-7 is one of the Finest military-style service knives available today.

Basic Description of item:

  • I took delivery of this knife a few days ago – it is Blackjack Knives latest offering, the Model 125. The knife is described as a heavy hunter. Overall length is 9.5 inches and weight is seven and a half ounces. The 125 replaces the Trailguide in the Blackjack model range.
  • The Model 13 Halo Attack is designed for survival. The Halo Attack has a thick double quillion guard and black polished canvas Micarta handle with a 'border patrol' style grip.
  • I reviewed a Blackjack 125 (same as the one in Circle10's pic above) on this forum back in 2009 - still using that knife and still have a high opinion of it. Mar 29, 2013 #14.

A classic style hunting knife that is perfectly suited to game and camp chores.

Story:

Blackjack’s Motto is ” No Gimmicks….Just Performance” and I have to say that I agree that this knife model 125 is true to their motto. Somehow the Blackjack name seems too slick for a knife this traditional and true to time-tested hunting design. I admit to be, just a bit, of a knife freak and have many so-called tactical knifes in my gun safe, but when I went looking for a traditional hunting knife that was capable of tackling game chores from the smallest to the largest North American game, this knife really stood out and fit the bill.

Blackjack Knives Model 7 Review

One of the classic design features of this knife is the generous and rounded choil which allows you to move your first finger and thumb forward on the knife and do detailed cutting and skinning chores. While the knife is not too large (even though Blackjack refers to it as a “heavy hunter”) to be functional, it has a stout .215 blade thickness making it capable of serious work in the field.

Overall, I love the style, design, and functionality of this knife. As an added bonus this knife comes razor sharp and includes one of the best leather knife sheaths by Sharpshooter Sheath Systems that I have owned.

What they could do better:

Change the company name to something more traditional to match their products? Just kidding!

So, there I was, sitting in the Chat Room (I know, right?? Who'd a thunk it??) and somehow the topic in the room gets around to packages in the mail and whatnot. Just at that moment, my kid heads up to the mailbox to check what's there. Jan asks me if I've received anything yet. I figured she meant the knife sharpener that I am waiting very patiently for. (Ya right!! HURRY UP!!) 'Nope', says I...must still be stuck in that magic place between countries that I believe lies somewhere under Chicago. Deep under...then Jan asks if I got anything from her. Nope as well...I didn't think I should be waiting for anything else. Enter kid...

'Nothing for you, Dad...just stuff for Mom.'

Silly me, I believe him. Sooo...as I am up grabbing a coffee, I happen to double check...lo and behold, the name on it is mine, not the wife's! (Says alot for my kid's education, huh??) so I wander to the couch and am looking at this..

Well now. A day with a surprise parcel is almost always a good one, right?? Sooo...after fetching my ZT0300 Parcel Removal and Extraction Tool (PRAET...gonna copyright that) I got to work. What I wasn't expecting was this...

To Be Continued...says I am over 4000 characters. ??
